TODAY'S FIVE FACTS ABOUT YOUTH MARKETS

-29% of hiring managers believe it will be “easy” for teens to find a summer job this year, according to Snagajob.com.

-89% of parents assign chores to their children, says financial website DoughMain.

-The number of parents who seek their children’s input in car purchases has grown from 38% in 2007 to 57% in 2011, according to The Family Room market and research agency.

-25% of college libraries surveyed by Research and Markets have purchased e-book readers, iPads, or other devices for students to read e-books.

-Teen girls are more likely to be distracted while driving and look away from the roadway than male teens (46% vs. 43%), reports the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
